Dry Ice Blasting and Industrial Practice
Konečná, Eva ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kuba, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the subject of dry ice blasting and its industrial practice. The key charakteristics of dry ice are described as well as an overview of dry ice blasting practical usage in various industries. Main part of this thesis focuses on a study of dry ice degradation, through a series of experiments and observations.
Dry ice blasting for surface cleaning
Horňák, David ; Konečná, Eva (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis deals with dry ice blasting, which belongs to modern and effective surface cleaning methods. The websites of various manufactures clearly state that this method is utilized in many industries, but there is a low number of research articles dealing with this cleaning method. The amount of literature that covers the usage of this method in certain industries is also insufficient. For this purpose, systematic overview of dry ice blasting applications in industry is presented based on thorough review of literature. The technology of dry ice blasting including dry ice blasting machine and its individual equipment is also closely introduced. The thesis also includes the characteristic case study of high energy and economic intensity of this process. This study states that 94 % of cleaning expenses is linked with consumption of dry ice. The effective dry ice management is necessary from the economic point of view. Suggested saving measures follow on from these facts. These measures are: • process automation • custom applications • compressor optimization • replacement of compressed air with different form of energy Implementation of these saving measures can help greater extension of dry ice blasting in industrial practise.
Design of cleaning robot for industrial air conditioning based on dry ice blasting technology
Novotný, Viktor ; Haltof, Vladimír (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this work is to design cleaning robot for industrial air conditioning based on dry ice blasting technology, which will be able to clean different types and sizes of pipes. The versatility of the robot was achieved by the adjustability of the different parts and the possibility to add additional components for vertical movement. The possibility of inserting the robot into pipes with entrance holes of different sizes is solved by a modular system. Ease of cleaning was achieved by covering the body. Focus was also placed on the ergonomics of the robot.

Využití suchého ledu v technologii vín révy vinné
Holešinský, Radim
This Diploma thesis contains information about cryomaceration and using of dry ice in wine technology. Base on that we could compare differences in basic wine parameters or amount of fenolic and sensoric contrasts in mature wines. In theoretical part of this thesis are describe principles of cold maceration or cryomaceration, but main focus was on maceration method with dry ice. In next part we oriented on calculating total costs and usefulness of dry ice. Final part is all about maceration and squeezing of blue grapes. In the beginning of experimental part is described variety Frankovka in general, which was used to this experiments. In following article is explained how the experiment was handled, what practices were used for it and why I chose analytic and sensoric method for this experiment. In Final part are presented graphs, results, conclusions we made in this experiment.

Bachelor theses deals with application of dry ice in technology of grapevine wines. In the theoretical part phenolic substances are described, next the meaning of pre-fermentation maceration, factors affectiong maceration and the last part is focused on dry ice, its composition and production and purchase possibilities. The purpose of the theses is to find out the effect of cold maceration on resultant wines. Two red and two pink wines were produced, while one of them was made by cold maceration and the other one without cooling during maceration. In the case of cold variants, basic analytical parameter were measured during pre-fermentation maceration and sensory evaluation was performed for young wines. The results show that the Frankovka variety is cold maceration suitable for both, the rose and red variation of wines.
